  3. Smoke test the EVAP system and document the leak location before estimating parts
  4. Command purge and vent valves with a scan tool and verify both electrical response and physical sealing
  5. Check vent filter restriction and refueling complaints when vent codes or pump click-off complaints exist
  6. After repair, clear codes and run the EVAP monitor or service bay test when supported
